Digital Cubed filaments are manufactured with high-grade materials and quality compounds, minimalising your postprint work and giving you superior final prints you can be proud of saying you printed. High quality and long lasting, Digital Cubed products are created with a lot of details in mind from the materials themselves all the way through to the carbon footprint on our Earth. Our MasterSpool™ (which come free with all Digital Cubed filaments) not only come in eco-friendly packaging but also allow you to re-use your spools over and over again – it also helps that our spoolless filaments are cheaper than regular filaments!

PLA (polylactic acid or polylactide) is an aliphatic polyester thermoplastic made of renewable resources such as corn or starch. Our PLA has a relatively low melting temperature at 190°C – 230°C and you can use it for most of your common prints and is easy to print with. It is a very hard plastic when printed and is fully recyclable.

One of the benefits of using PLA as a print material is the ease of use and a wide variety of application. PLA is not as sensitive to temperature changes which means it does not need a heated build plate or a full enclosure to print well.

Parts printed with PLA have great surface quality and decent strength, however, we would not recommend this print material suitable for parts that undergo a lot of wear and tear or be left outside in the elements for long. We would recommend printing material such as ABS or PETG if you are looking for these types of qualities.

However, PLA is an easy print material to work with and is generally more forgiving with complex features. For example, you can print an overhang of up to 68° vs 45° with ABS, in addition to easier bridge building. It goes without saying, for optimal prints, make sure you use a raft and make sure your build plate is level.

High quality first class filament. Excellent finish surface and prints like a dream. It is expensive but well worth it in my opinion

This is my second order now and I am happy with the overall print quality and tolerances. By far the best filament I have used to date. Great little bonus they include the masterspools as I pay very little in comparison for their re-fillable spoolless range. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality PLA filament.

Well priced, if not cheap for the high quality received in comparison to some of the other filament brands tried. Will be ordering more from their spoolless range.
